The tourist spots that I will introduce today are Kon-do halls of Kofuku-ji temple in Nara. There were three kon-do halls in Kofukuji temple once.
They were To-Kondo hall, Chu-Kondo hall, and Sai-Kondo hall.
Now only To-kondo(The Eastern Golden Hall) remains.
This is on the north of Gojunoto(The Five-Storied Pagoda).
Tokondo(The Eastern Golden Hall) was founded in 726.
After that, burning and rebuilding were repeated, and the present building was rebuilt in 1415.
Saikondo(The Western Golden Hall) was remained only the site that was built.
It is the north of Nan'endo(The Southern Round Hall).
Chukondo(The Central Golden Hall) is under reconstruction now.
Its location is around the middle of Tokondo and the site of Nishikondo.
It is said that reconstruction will be completed in October next year.
That's all for today.
