The Japanese life culture I introduce today is the consecutive vacation called Golden Week.
Well, Television and newspapers say " The long vacation called golden week will come soon ".
In Japan, school has long holidays such as summer vacation, winter vacation and spring vacation.
However, most companies do not have a long vacation system in Japan.
So most of the workers will not take long-term consecutive vacation.
It is only marriage vacation to take a long vacation.
In such Japan, it is not so long, but there is a continuous vacation.
That is the period from late April to early May.
[ national holidays ]
We have national holidays in Japan.

May 3: Constitution Memorial Day
May 4th: Greenery Day
May 5th: Children's Day
3rd Monday of July: Marine day
August 11: Mountain Day
The 3 rd Monday of September: Respect for the Aged Day
September 23 around Autumnal Equinox Day
Second Monday in October: Health and Sports Day
November 3: Culture Day
November 23: Labor Thanksgiving Day
December 23: Emperor's Birthday
There are many holidays from the end of April to the beginning of May.
If the holiday and Sunday overlap, the next Monday will be a holiday.
[ Golden week ]
I will show the calendar this year.
There are many companies that will be closed on Saturdays, Sundays and national holidays.
Those companies are closed from April 28th to May 30th.
And those companies will be closed from May 3rd to 6th.
These holidays are called Golden week in Japan.
Depending on the company, May 1st and May 2nd are closed on occasion.
Some companies also recommend that you take paid leave on May 1 and May 2.
For this reason, many people are closed from April 29th to May 6th.
Many people go to sightseeing spots and amusement park in this golden week.
The road is also crowded.
For this reason it often happens that it took 3 hours to drive in 30 minutes usually by car.
If you come to Japan from abroad this period, it would be better to be prepared for crowding.
